JD & Emily | Engagement Session | New York City

While I am no stranger to some of the more remote and wild parts of the county, big cities are something I don’t have a ton of experience shooting in. Ive just never felt a draw. That has certainly changed now. JD and Emily hosted me in New York City for their engagement session. We started off at The Met before heading to Grand Central Station. The city was quiet. A few small crowds of people moved their way through narrow streets wedged between some of the most gorgeous buildings I have ever seen. From there we ventured further towards the Lower East Side and Brooklyn. As we made our way to Prince Street Pizza, the crowds thickened, there was music, food, and culture everywhere. At one point, Emily said “I am glad we chose today. The city is alive”. I felt that energy from the city as well. I can see now why so many other photographers have fallen in love with that place. I can’t wait to return.
