This one was awesome. I love these backyard weddings. They are always such intimate events. This one stood out to me because it was really one big, close-knit family. I was referred to this wonderful couple by one of my professors and I am super excited about all the photos we created, both in their record store engagement shoot and their beautiful backyard wedding. It was really awesome working with this couple because they had a clear and specific vision for their photos and it fit perfectly with my style.

I am gonna try something new for this one. Music has always been a big source of my inspiration. Try playing the song below while you scroll through these photos. Leave me a comment below with your thoughts. Enjoy!

Records. Their engagement session was at Revolver Records in Downtown Phoenix. Ive always wanted to shoot photos in a location like this.

Photographer's Note: Shot with my 50mm F1.4 (I upgraded a few months later to the F1.2) Natural light from the diffused sunlight in the window.

Together again for the first time. I just love the stack of records on the left and how the collection kind of envelopes them.

Ok, wedding time!

Details.

Writing her vows.

Fair warning. There will be a lot of photos of the flower girl. She was all over the place and not at all camera shy.

Running around. She was so excited about her huge puffy dress that the second she got it on she was running around the hotel suit.

Photographer's Note: 50mm F1.2 Natural light. I wanted to silhouette her so I bracketed 3 stops under exposed on spot metering.

I love this moment between the bride's mother and the flower girl.

The girls. This was a fun bunch. It was really awesome seeing how close this family is.

The bride.

Desert. They had a green chile apple pie. Thats definitely a first.

The guys. The groom's suit was awesome.

This moment was so awesome! The flower girl grabbed the ring bearer's hand and ran into the room to see the bride. Completely unscripted awesomeness.

and it begins..

First Kiss.

Photographer's Note: 50mm F1.2 Natural Light. The lighting was less than ideal but it is what it is. I know that conventional wisdom says that i should have used a flash for fill but if this is how the moment was than I am just going to capture it as such.

One of my favorite moments from the whole day. This was their first moment alone together right after the ceremony.

Like I said. They were a fun bunch. I am a huge "How I met your mother" and I kind of wanted to get that vibe in these photos. I think It worked out.

Photographer's Note: 17-40mm F4L. Alienbee B800 through a softbox camera left.

Intimacy. Even though they will never admit, this couple was so easy to pose and photograph.

These photos were taken during the toasts. Told you the flower girl would be a big part of this post.

Cutting the cake.
